HOW IT WORKS
Medik8’s signature night cream is expertly designed to restore the appearance of youthful-looking skin; through smoothing the appearance of visible lines and wrinkles, plumping and nourishing dry crepey skin texture, improving the feel of skin elasticity and reducing the look of dark spots and pores. As twilight falls, skin cells are at their most active and ready for overnight repair.
Advanced Night Restore contains skin-supporting ceramides that are carefully optimised into a ratio with other skin lipids to help to deeply restore the skin's barrier. This boosts the skin’s natural protection against skin-ageing ready for the next morning, whilst visibly firming and nourishing the complexion.
A cell repairing peptide, dragon fruit extract and saskatoon berry form our Midnight Antioxidant Complex, which caters to the skin’s need for overnight repair after a day’s exposure to free radicals within the environment, resulting in a visibly healthy-looking glow by morning.
N-acetyl glucosamine works in synergy with retinol to boost the production of hyaluronic acid, helping to firm, plump and encourage a youthful-looking complexion.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND
“Ceramides are naturally present in the skin’s waterproof barrier which protects against external irritants and stops moisture from escaping. Ceramides are just one component of the lipid barrier, alongside other lipids like cholesterol and fatty acids. When ceramides are used in skincare, they can be supercharged in their nourishing power when combined with other skin lipids, such as phytosterols and fatty acids. Our extensive research into ceramide combinations has yielded a multi-ceramide complex combined with phytosterol and multiple fatty acids in a optimised ratio of 3:1:1:1 which is scientifically-proven to accelerate barrier recovery.[1] These ingredients are almost ‘skin identical’, allowing them to easily nourish the skin and restore its protective barrier.”
